How to Apply

Students:

  • To be considered for participation in the Tennessee JSHS, students need to submit a student nomination form signed by the sponsoring teacher, principal of the school, and a parent/guardian. 
  • Student applicants should indicate whether:
    • they will present a research paper or
    • will be attending the symposium but will not be presenting research
  • For students who plan to present a research paper, the nomination form must be accompanied by a copy of the research paper, an abstract and supporting documentation.  Instructions for preparation of these are available under the guidelines for “Preparing the Research Paper."
  • Nomination forms may be mailed, faxed or sent electronically as an email attachment to the Symposium director.  The deadline for the submission of nomination forms and research papers is Janurary 10, 2008.

Teachers:

  • To attend the Symposium, complete the Teacher Nomination Form, secure the signature of your principal, and send with the student nomination forms from your school to the Symposium director no later than Janurary 10, 2008.
  • Please make certain that the names, addresses, and Email addresses on all nomination forms are clearly written. All correspondence with teachers and students will be by Email to the degree possible.

NOTE: If a school wishes to nominate more than three students and one teacher, please indicate which three students and one teacher who are the primary nominees. Additional students should be listed in order of their preferred acceptance as alternates.
