Welcome to the Tennessee Junior Science & Humanities Symposium!
The 44th annual Tennessee Junior Science and Humanities Symposium will be held Thursday, March 5 through Saturday, March 7, 2009 at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
The symposium will feature oral and poster presentations of original research conducted by Tennessee high school students which will be presented to and judged by a panel of scientists from the University of Tennessee Science and Engineering Faculty.
Additionally, attending students and teacher mentors will be given the opportunity to visit selected laboratories and interact with research scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee who are conducting cutting edge research in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering.
The symposium will culminate with a banquet during which scholarships will be awarded to the top student researchers based on the assessment of the judging panel. In addition, the top three student researchers will be invited to participate in the National JSHS in May 2009.
